While everyone expects to see spirits in a pub, there seems to be spirits of a different kind frequenting the Queen's Head Bar. Proprieters Jackie and Pauline Kennedy are convinced that something is going bump in the night and things have become so bad they have called in Hawick's answer to Ghostbusters. Hawick Paranormal Society will be holding an all night vigil in the upstairs building this Monday , October 17th, to investigate the strange noises and experiences. Speaking to the 'News' Jackie Kennedy said: "We have been in the Queen's Head for 14 months and there has been a fair few activities that have got us thinking. I can be downstairs in the cellar and hear footsteps upstairs in the bar, even though the bar is closed. While I have also been aware of noises upstairs when I have been working in the bar." Now the Hawick Paranormal Society are on the case. They consist of Nadia Marcantonio, Steven Finnie, Brian Storrie, Debbie Sinclair, and Colin Storrie. The group are planning to set up base in the bar and the upstairs building on Monday night after the pub has shut. With a variety of equipment they hope to document any stange movements and look to explain things that have so far been unexplained. Speaking to the 'News' Nadia said: "Our investigation is always extremely thorough and we simply look to disprove everything that is taking place. Our group has only just been formed within the last year. There is a huge level of public interest in the Paranormal and that has steadily grown in recent years with the variety of TV programmes. With the history of Hawick there is every reason to believe that there will be activity in Hawick." Brian Storrie added: "We spend a lot of time between investigations researching local history and properties. This can help us in our investigations by providing a background of information from which to work" He added: " Alot of what people experience can be explained rationally and logically. Not everything experienced is Paranormal activity. On our investigations we look at hard evidence and take into account eye witness reports and experience."
